Launching Our New Blog

The Headley Carter Cares Foundation (HCCF) is excited to announce the launch of our new blog where we will provide quarterly updates. Our goal is to provide website visitors with up-to-date information on our active efforts to continue serving the community. Our blog will feature posts that highlight our latest accomplishments, the progress of our efforts, and the inspiring stories of the people we are helping.

We understand that engaging with our community is an integral part of our mission and this blog provides us with an additional platform to do so. We hope that by reading our blog, visitors will gain a better understanding of how we are working to improve the lives of those in our community and serve as an additional way to connect with our supporters and to spread awareness of our work. With that being said, let’s take a look back into this past year’s accomplishments!

On July 12, 2022, the Headley Carter Cares Foundation (HCCF) was awarded a $10,000 grant from the Meyer Foundation, a long-term partner that has supported charitable organizations and projects that seek to improve the lives of individuals and communities. This grant represented a major achievement for the HCCF, as it would allow us to continue our work in providing vital assistance to those in need.

On October 7, 2022, the Headley Carter Cares Foundation (HCCF) was awarded the Maryland State Shining Star Award from the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative Women (NOBEL). The Maryland State Shining Star Award was an honor for HCCF and a recognition of their commitment to helping the community. This award is a reminder that even small organizations can make a big impact in the lives of those in need. HCCF will continue to strive to make a difference in the lives of those in need and to bring about positive change in their community.

In an effort to brighten the season for those facing difficult circumstances, HCCF has also donated 5 monetary gifts to 5 homeless students at Sasha Bruce Youthwork, one of HCCF’s longstanding partners. The students at Sasha Bruce Youthwork are some of the most vulnerable members of society, with many facing homelessness and poverty. We hope these little gifts will go a long way in ensuring that these students have a meaningful and memorable holiday season. The students may purchase essential items or treats for themselves and their families, or even just enjoy a meal out.

Small gestures such as this is just a reminder that during the holidays, we should all take a moment to reflect on the importance of giving back and supporting those in need. We all have the power to create positive change in our communities and we should do our best to help our kids shine!
